RunIT — Community & Safety
Effective date: 12 September 2026 · Version: 1.0 · Applies to: everyone on the RunIT apps
RunIT connects people to get real work done. This page explains what we expect from everyone, what we do and don't check, and how to get help.
1. What RunIT checks
RunIT does not verify identity and does not run background or criminal-record checks. Workers make a declaration when they sign up (see the Worker Agreement clause 2), but RunIT does not independently confirm it.
RunIT does not currently carry out identity verification, a selfie check or a police clearance check. Please take the safety steps below.
2. Staying safe
For customers
- Meet the worker at the door; confirm their name matches the app before letting them in.
- Stay home, or arrange for a responsible adult to be there, while work is done.
- Keep valuables and medication out of the way. Don't leave a stranger alone with children or vulnerable adults if you are not comfortable.
- Agree the price in the app chat before work starts. Count cash before the worker leaves.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, end the job.
For workers
- Confirm the customer's name and the address before you go in.
- Tell someone you trust where you are, especially for long or after-hours call-outs.
- Take before-and-after photos — they settle most disputes.
- Agree the price in the app chat before you start; collect the cash when you finish.
- If a job or a location feels unsafe, leave. Your safety outranks any booking.
3. What we expect from everyone
- Be honest. Give accurate information about who you are and what you can do.
- Be respectful. No harassment, threats, discrimination or abusive language.
- Keep it on the Platform. Use the in-app chat to arrange jobs so there is a record.
- No illegal activity, and no using the app to arrange anything illegal.
- Pay and be paid fairly. Only pay for work done; only charge for work done.
4. Reporting a problem
- In the app: use the report option on a profile, a chat, or a booking, and the block option to stop being matched with someone.
- By email: support@runitt.co.za · Phone: 076 682 4358
- In an emergency, call 10111 (police) or 10177 (ambulance) first.
When you report something we can review the chat, photos, ratings and account history, mediate, warn a user, or remove them from the Platform. Because RunIT holds no money, we cannot order or make a refund — a money dispute is between the customer and the worker, though we will help where we can.
5. Enforcement
Breaking these guidelines or the Terms of Service can lead to a warning, suspension or permanent removal, and we may report unlawful conduct to the authorities.
