RunIT — Terms of Service
Effective date: 12 September 2026 · Version: 1.0 · Applies to: the RunIT apps
Plain-language summary (not a substitute for the terms below). RunIT connects you with independent home-service providers. There are no in-app payments: the customer and the worker agree a price and settle it in cash when the job is done. RunIT never holds your money and charges no commission. Workers are not identity-checked or background-checked — meet in a safe place and use common sense.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the RunIT mobile applications and related services (the "Platform"), operated by RunIT (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2026/475840/07), a company incorporated in the Republic of South Africa with its registered address at Cleeve Rd, Henley on Klip, Meyerton, Gauteng, 1961, South Africa ("RunIT", "we", "us").
By creating an account or using the Platform you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Community & Safety guidelines, and — depending on your role — the Customer Agreement or Worker Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
Certain clauses limit our liability and require you to accept risk. These are highlighted in bold — please read them carefully.

2. Definitions
- Customer — a user who requests or books home services through the Platform.
- Worker — an independent service provider who offers services through the Platform. Workers are not employees, agents or partners of RunIT.
- Booking — a request for services made by a Customer and accepted by a Worker.
- Services — the home services listed in the app (for example cleaning, plumbing, gardening, handyman, pool cleaning, car wash, repairs).
3. What RunIT is, and is not
3.1 RunIT is a marketplace and introduction service. We help Customers and Workers find each other and communicate. We are not the supplier of the Services, we do not perform the Services, and we are not the Workers' employer.
3.2 The contract for the Services is between the Customer and the Worker. RunIT is not a party to it.
3.3 RunIT is not a bank, a payment institution or an FSCA-licensed financial services provider. RunIT does not receive, hold, transmit or refund any payment.
4. Eligibility and your account
4.1 You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under South African law.
4.2 You must give accurate information, keep your login secure, and are responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us immediately at support@runitt.co.za if you think it has been compromised.
4.3 One account per person. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, is used fraudulently, or creates a safety risk.
5. Bookings
5.1 A Customer requests a Service and, optionally, a time. The Platform offers the job to nearby Workers. A Booking is formed when a Worker accepts.
5.2 Prices shown in the app are guide prices only. The Customer and the Worker must agree the final price between themselves — in the in-app chat before the job starts, or on site for "quote" services — before work begins.
5.3 Either party may cancel a Booking through the app. There is no cancellation fee. Repeated last-minute cancellations may lead to account suspension.
6. Paying for jobs — cash
6.1 All payment is in cash, paid directly by the Customer to the Worker, normally when the job is finished.
6.2 RunIT does not collect, hold, escrow or process any payment, and takes no commission. Any dispute about money is between the Customer and the Worker; RunIT will assist where it reasonably can (clause 10) but cannot reverse, refund or release a payment because it never holds one.
6.3 We recommend that Customers and Workers agree the price in the in-app chat so there is a record, count cash before the Worker leaves, and use the app's rating and reporting tools if something goes wrong.
7. What we do and don't check
7.1 RunIT does not verify a Worker's identity and does not run criminal-record or background checks. A Worker confirms, when signing up, that they are entitled to work in South Africa and have no undisclosed serious criminal record, but RunIT does not independently confirm this.
7.2 Ratings and reviews are written by other users. They are opinions, not statements of fact by RunIT, and we do not guarantee their accuracy.
7.3 You are responsible for your own safety. Read the Community & Safety guidelines. Meet in a safe place, tell someone where you are, and stop any job that feels unsafe.
8. Your conduct
You agree not to: break the law; harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone; misrepresent who you are or what you can do; use the Platform to arrange anything illegal; scrape, disrupt or reverse-engineer the Platform; or use another user's contact details for anything other than the Booking they relate to.
9. Chat and content
9.1 The in-app chat is for arranging Bookings. We may screen messages automatically for safety (for example threats or attempts to share contact details before a Booking) and may block or review content that breaks these Terms or the Community & Safety guidelines.
9.2 You keep ownership of photos and text you submit, but grant RunIT a licence to host and display them for the purpose of operating the Platform and handling disputes and safety reports.
10. Problems and disputes
10.1 If a job goes wrong, first try to resolve it directly with the other party through the app.
10.2 You can raise a problem with RunIT in the app or at support@runitt.co.za. We can review messages, photos, ratings and account history, mediate, warn or remove a user, and share information with the authorities where appropriate. Because RunIT holds no funds, we cannot order or make a payment, refund or reversal.
10.3 Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 against the Worker as the supplier of the Services.
11. Suspension and termination
11.1 You may stop using the Platform and delete your account at any time from Profile → the app, or at https://runitt.co.za/delete-account.
11.2 We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, create a safety or fraud risk, or if we discontinue the Platform. We will give reasonable notice where we can.
11.3 We may discontinue the Platform, or any feature of it, at any time.
12. Liability
12.1 The Services are provided by the Worker, not by RunIT. RunIT is not liable for the quality, safety, legality or outcome of any Service, for a Worker's or Customer's conduct, or for any loss, injury or damage arising from a Booking or from cash handled between the parties.
12.2 The Platform is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or available. To the maximum extent permitted by law we exclude all implied warranties in respect of the Platform itself.
12.3 To the maximum extent permitted by law, RunIT's total liability to you for any claim connected with the Platform or a Booking is limited to R50 000. Nothing in this clause excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
12.4 We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profit, revenue or data.
13. Personal information
We handle personal information in line with our Privacy Policy and POPIA. The RunIT apps collect no government ID, no photograph of an ID, no selfie, no police clearance and no banking details.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms. We will post the updated version in the app and on https://runitt.co.za/legal/beta and update the effective date. Continuing to use the Platform after a change means you accept it. When RunIT introduces in-app payments or identity checks, new Terms will replace this version, and you will be asked to accept them then.
15. General
15.1 Governing law: the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Jurisdiction: the courts of South Africa.
15.2 If a clause is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
15.3 These Terms, with the documents they refer to, are the whole agreement between you and RunIT about the Platform.
15.4 You may not cede or assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign ours to a group company or a successor.
