RunIT — Worker Agreement

Effective date: 12 September 2026 · Version: 1.0 · Applies to: Workers on the RunIT apps

This Worker Agreement applies when you offer services through the RunIT apps. It sits under the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy; if there is a conflict, the Terms of Service win.

In short: you are your own boss. You set your services, prices and hours. You agree a price with each customer and collect the cash from them directly when the job is done. RunIT takes no commission. RunIT does not run an ID or background check on you — instead you make a declaration (clause 2).

1. Your status — independent contractor

1.1 You are an independent contractor. You are not an employee, agent, partner or franchisee of RunIT. Nothing in this Agreement creates an employment relationship.

1.2 You decide which jobs to accept, when to work, how to do the work, and what to charge (within any guide range the app shows). You provide your own tools, transport and materials.

1.3 You may send a competent substitute to do a job you have accepted, provided you remain responsible for it and the customer agrees.

1.4 You are responsible for your own income tax, and for registering for VAT if the law requires it. RunIT does not deduct or withhold anything.

2. Registration and your declaration

2.1 To offer services you must give a bio, your base area and travel radius, the services and prices you offer, and your weekly working hours.

2.2 In place of the full identity and background check (which RunIT does not currently carry out), you confirm when you sign up that:

  • you are entitled to work in South Africa;
  • you have no undisclosed serious criminal conviction that would make it unsafe or unlawful for you to enter a customer's home or perform the services;
  • the information in your profile is true; and
  • you hold any licence, registration or certification the law requires for the services you offer (for example a registered electrician for electrical work, a registered plumber for plumbing and gas).

2.3 This is your declaration, not a check by RunIT. Giving false information is a breach of this Agreement and may be a criminal offence. RunIT may suspend or remove you, and report you, if a declaration turns out to be false.

3. One trade per account · quality and safety

3.1 An account offers services in one category. To change trade, remove your services and add new ones.

3.2 You must do each job with reasonable skill and care, to a standard a reasonable customer would expect, and comply with health-and-safety and other laws that apply to the work.

3.3 If a customer is unhappy, work with them in good faith to put it right. Persistent poor quality, safety breaches or complaints may lead to suspension.

4. Getting paid — cash

4.1 The customer pays you directly, in cash. Agree the final price with them before you start — in the in-app chat for fixed-price services, or on site for "quote" services — and collect the cash when the job is done.

4.2 RunIT does not collect, hold or pass on your payment, and takes NO commission. There is no RunIT wallet and no payout. What you agree with the customer is what you keep.

4.3 Keep your own records of what you earned for tax purposes. The Earnings screen in the app is a convenience tally, not an official record.

5. Cancelling and no-shows

5.1 You may decline any job. Once you accept, only cancel through the app and as early as possible.

5.2 There is no cancellation fee, in either direction. Repeated no-shows or late cancellations may lead to suspension.

6. Conduct and reputation

6.1 Be on time, communicate through the app, and treat customers and their property and household with respect.

6.2 Ratings and reviews from customers are shown on your profile. You may reply once per review. You may ask RunIT to review a review you believe breaks the Community & Safety guidelines.

6.3 Do not use a customer's details for anything other than the Booking, and do not pressure a customer to book future work off the Platform.

7. Safety

Read the Community & Safety guidelines. Confirm the customer's name before entering, keep before-and-after photos, share your live trip with someone you trust on long call-outs, and leave any job that feels unsafe — your safety outranks any booking.

8. Insurance

8.1 You are responsible for your own insurance. For higher-risk trades (electrical, plumbing, gas, roofing and structural work) RunIT strongly recommends you hold public liability cover of at least R1 000 000. This is recommended, not enforced.

9. Liability

9.1 You are responsible for the work you do and for any loss, injury or damage you cause. RunIT is not liable for your acts or omissions.

9.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, RunIT's total liability to you for any claim connected with the Platform is limited to R50 000. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Suspension and termination

10.1 You may stop offering services and delete your account at any time.

10.2 RunIT may suspend or remove you for a breach of this Agreement, a false declaration, a safety or fraud risk, or if the Platform is discontinued.

11. Your information

See the Privacy Policy. RunIT collects no ID, ID photo, selfie, police clearance or bank details.

12. Changes and general

RunIT may change this Agreement (notice in the app and at https://runitt.co.za/legal/beta). Governed by South African law; the courts of South Africa have jurisdiction. If a clause is unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
